‘MLB.com’ Milwaukee Brewers reporter Adam Macalvey said, ‘Milwaukee has signed a minor league contract with Starck that includes invitations to major league camps. He pitched in Korea last year,’ he said.
Stark played one season in the KBO League last year as a member of Doosan. He went 9-10 with a 3.60 earned run average and 138 strikeouts in 29 games, pitching 165 innings, making 15 quality starts.
He showed off his pitch with an average fastball of 152 km, but failed to renew his contract with Doosan after the season. His pitching was unstable compared to fast balls, and his innings digestibility was somewhat reduced due to the increased number of pitches. It was regrettable that he had been sluggish with 2 losses and an average ERA of 7.25 in the last 5 games since September.
Stark had 4 seasons of major league experience before coming to Korea. His last 2018 debut with the San Diego Padres was followed by the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and New York Mets.
He went 2-4 with a 4.71 earned run average and 76 strikeouts in 55 career games (72⅔ innings) through 2021.
