Starting tomorrow, Doosan Match Play Championship ‘Gangwon 5’ sortie

The Korea Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour’s only match play tournament, the ‘2023 Doosan Match Play Championship’ (total prize money of 900 million won, championship prize of 225 million won) will be held at Chuncheon 먹튀검증Ladena Golf Club (72, 6350 yards) for five days from the 17th. It is held in the Nature (OUT) and Garden (IN) courses.

In this tournament, Park Ji-young (27, Korea Land Trust, from Wonju) and Lee Da-yeon (26, Medi-Peel, from Wonju), Kim Min-byeol (19, Hite Jinro, from Chuncheon), and Han Jin-sun (26, from Wonju), who are challenging the first win of the season. Five Gangwon golfers, including Kakao VX (from Sokcho) and Lim Hee-jeong (23, from Doosan Engineering & Construction, Taebaek), will participate. In addition, a total of 64 players, including defending champion Jeong-Min Hong (21, CJ), past winners Min-Ji Park (25, NH Investment & Securities), and Ji-Hyun Kim (31, Daebo Engineering & Construction), made their names on the list. As players within the 60th place in last year’s prize money ranking and the top rankers in this season’s prize money ranking will participate, thrilling matches are expected.

The tournament will be held in 7 rounds over 5 days, and the group stage will be held on the 3rd. Depending on the group stage results, only the first place in each group can advance to the round of 16. The group draw to determine the group stage matches will be held on the 16th, the day before the tournament. Depending on the results of the group lottery, a so-called ‘group of death’ or ‘group of luck’ is created.
