South Korean mixed doubles aces Seo Seung-jae (Armed Forces Athletic Corps) and Chae Yoo-jung (Incheon International Airport) claimed their first win at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Malaysia Masters.
The pair defeated England’s Gregory Myers and Jenny Moore 2-0 먹튀검증(23-21 21-8) in the first round (Round of 32) of the BWF World Tour Super 500 Series Malaysia Masters mixed doubles on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yoo-jung have had a strong showing at the Sudirman Cup, the World Badminton Mixed Championships, which concluded in Suzhou, China, on Nov. 21. As per the tournament rules, mixed doubles was the first event to take place and the pair won both the quarterfinals and semifinals to lead Korea to the final.
In the final, they fought hard against China’s world No. 1 pair of Zheng Zhiwei and Huang Yaechong, but fell short 1-2 (21-18 20-22 8-21).
After the Sudirman Cup, Seo Seung-Jae and Chae Yu-Jung competed in the Malaysia Masters. After a strong start to the tournament, the pair will face the Chinese Taipei pair of Yang Po-hsuan and Hu Ling-fang in the quarterfinals.

The Korean duo of Kim Won-ho (Samsung Life Insurance) and Jung Nae-eun (Hwasun County Government) also defeated Malaysia’s Chan Peng Soon and Choo Ai Si 2-0 (21-8 21-15) in the first round of the mixed doubles. Kim Won-ho and Jung Na-eun will face Japan’s Kyohei Yamashita and Naru Shinoya in the round of 16.
Kim Ga-eun (Samsung Life) came from behind to defeat Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon 2-1 (15-21 21-14 21-18) in the first round. Shim Yoo-jin (Incheon International Airport) also advanced to the second round with a 2-0 (21-14 21-7) victory over Rian Tan (Belgium).
Jeon Hyuk-jin (Yonex), who reached the men’s singles main draw after qualifying, was eliminated in the first round with a 1-2 (21-16 26-28 11-21) loss to Rasmus Jemke (Denmark).
