Yeoncheon Miracle, an independent baseball team, will hold an open player selection tryout for 2024 at Seongok Baseball Park located in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do on the 9th of next month.
Yeoncheon Miracle is the only independent baseball team in Korea sponsored by the local government (Yeoncheon-gun), and Bae Hyun-ho (KIA Tigers) advanced to the KBO League this year. Applicants who wish to participate in the tryout can apply on the Yeoncheon Miracle website until the 5th of next month. Applicants will go through a practical ability test and interview for each position to finally select players. The number of people selected is 20. Those eligible for support are ① former professional players, ② amateur players from domestic high schools and universities (including those scheduled to graduate and dropouts), ③ graduates from domestic and foreign independent leagues and overseas schools, and ④ ordinary people with excellent skills.
Yeoncheon Miracle said, “Due to the abolition of the membership fee (room and board) system, we are looking forward to joining excellent players and challenging the pros with peace of mind in a stable environment.” He added, “In particular, in this tryout, we will be recruiting applicants for the left-handed pitcher, catcher, and shortstop positions and the 2024 class. “Preference will be given to those eligible for the ‘2025 KBO Rookie Draft’ held in the second half of the year and to young players born in 2004 or younger.”
Players selected through tryouts will join the existing squad and participate in final training. You can also participate in the KBSA Division 1 league held in the second half of the year.
