Rolen was the only one out of 28 candidates on the ballot this year with a vote rate of 76.3% (297 votes), exceeding the entry threshold (75% of the vote), to obtain a ticket to the Hall of Fame.
Rolen, who retired at the end of 2012, was nominated for induction into the Hall of Fame five years after his retirement.

Rolen, who made his big league debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1996, played 17 years for four teams: St. Louis Cardinals (2002-2007), Toronto Blue Jays (2008-2009), and Cincinnati Reds (2009-2012). In 1997, he was a promising cotyledon who became the National League Rookie of the Year by unanimous decision.
His career average is 0.281, 316 home runs, 1,287 RBIs, and 2,077 hits. He notably hit 517 doubles.

Rolen, who played only as a third baseman from his debut until his retirement, is a professional third baseman who, along with Chipper Jones, are the only two players to have been inducted into the BBWAA-voted Hall of Fame since 1982. He is the 18th all-time third baseman to earn a spot in the Hall of Fame.
In this year’s vote, Todd Helton, a slugger from the Colorado Rockies, stayed with 72.2% of the vote, 11 votes short of the admission standard, in his fifth challenge, promising next year.
Jeff Kent, who played as a second baseman for the San Francisco Giants and others, took only 46.5% of the vote in his last 10th challenge.
Giants Alex Rodriguez (35.7%) and Manny Ramirez (33.2%) fell far short of the inductee standard this time around as they were disciplined for taking banned substances during their playing days.
Carlos Beltran, who was designated as the main player in the ‘sign scandal’ by the Houston Astros despite leaving amazing results during his active career, recorded the highest vote rate of 46.5% among the first contenders this year, raising his chances of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Rolen, along with Fred McGriff, will attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown, New York, USA this July.
McGriff, who hit 493 homers in his career in the big leagues, fell out of the BBWAA vote, but was unanimously selected last month and entered the Hall of Fame in the MLB ‘Modern Baseball Era Committee’ vote, which is dominated by veteran players.
