‘Best friend’ Jeon Kwang-in’s injury, Seo Jae-deok, who conveyed his apologies, “He called me first”

It was an unfortunate accident. Hyundai Capital’s outside heater Jeon Kwang-in (32) suffered an ankle injury in a collision먹튀검증 with Seo Jae-deok (34) in a match against KEPCO in the 6th round of the Dodram V-League men’s division on the 9th of the 2022-2023 season.

Coincidentally, the two players are rumored to be best friends in the V-League. Sungkyunkwan University two years senior and junior, and from the 2013-2014 season to the 2017-2018 season, KEPCO ate a pot of rice for five seasons. 

Seo Jae-deok scored 13 points with an attack success rate of 50% in the Woori Card and semi-playoff (junior PO) held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 22nd, and the team’s set score was 3 to 1 (25019, 25-18, 18-25, 25-22 ) led to victory. KEPCO succeeded in advancing into PO thanks to Seo Jae-deok’s performance.

In PO, Hyundai Capital, who finished second in the regular league this season, is waiting for you. However, it is virtually difficult for Jeon Kwang-in, who was diagnosed to need treatment for 3 to 4 weeks after an ankle injury, to participate. 

Jeon Kwang-in played 34 games (122 sets) this season and showed excellent performance in both offense and defense with 406 points, an attack success rate of 55.69%, a receiving efficiency of 40.03%, and 1.828 digs per set. From the perspective of Hyundai Capital, the absence of Jeon Kwang-in is bound to be painful.

Seo Jae-deok expressed his regret for Jeon Kwang-in. As they are close friends, he was sincerely sorry for Jeon Kwang-in’s injury. Seo Jae-deok said, “I’m still very sorry. But (former) Kwang-in called first and let him go.”

But there is no time to be sad. Although he is a 10-year veteran of his debut, he has not yet stepped on the stage of the championship match, so he is desperate for victory at Hyundai Capital and PO. Seo Jae-deok promised, “I will go to Cheonan with only the goal of winning.”

On the 24th, KEPCO will hold a PO with Hyundai Capital at the Cheonan Yu Gwan-sun Gymnasium. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to make it to the championship match by driving the momentum that has succeeded in advancing to the PO for two consecutive years.
